About the event
During this 3-hour masterclass for expecting/new (within 0-8 weeks) parents or couples (or for doulas), we will dive into postpartum education so they are informed, empowered, and better positioned to navigate their parenting journey from day one.
We will discuss everything you need to know to thrive in the 4th trimester--and beyond--including:
- mom's physical healing and recovery
- nutrient repletion and hormonal balancing post-delivery
- prioritizing sleep and protecting maternal mental health
- breastfeeding and bottle feeding techniques
- safe newborn sleep practices and setting up a sleep environment
- newborn sleep patterns and daily rhythm
- reflux, gas, fussiness, and soothing
- newborn developmental milestones

FACILITATOR
Liza Kaplan Montanino, founder of Rock-a-Bye Baby Sleep, is a dual-certified pediatric and special needs sleep consultant through the Center for Pediatric Sleep Management and Institute for Pediatric Sleep & Parenting, respectively. She is also a graduate of the Sleep Health Intelligence Program through Dr. Anya McLaren-Barnett, cofounder of the Westchester Mama & Child Wellness Expo, and sleep expert in The Indy Lab’s Parenting Center. She is a sleep instructor with Virtual Village Parenting, a newborn care professional, lactation educator, and an active member of CAPPA and HVBN.
Liza specializes in improving sleep health and habits for newborns, infants, toddlers, and big kids from birth through age 12 and proudly coaches neurotypical and special needs families through the process of establishing better sleep skills.
When not supporting families 1:1, Liza leads workshops, webinars, and trainings on the importance of sleep quality and how to improve sleep struggles, presenting to parents, clinicians, schools, and postpartum support networks nationwide, including Postpartum Support International, The Motherhood Center, Little Spoon, Westchester Psychological Association, Lower Hudson Valley Perinatal Network, The Parent Collective, and many others. She is passionate about working to disrupt the narrative that equates parenthood with sleep deprivation by educating parents on the important connection between sleep and maternal mental health, and proudly supports all families on their journey toward continuous, more restorative sleep so that both children and their parents are better positioned to thrive.
